I am fucking exhausted. I want to lie down and sleep. And this heavy lehnga is now irritating the shit out of me. I was removing my 'nth' hairpin. My hands were in pain and now I couldn't do it anymore.

"Rudra?" I called out.

"Yes?"

"Can you please help me?"

"Yes, sure." He looked at me and nodded in understanding.

I closed my eyes as he was removing pins. I want to sleep.

"Done." oh thank god.

"Thank you." I flashed a smile at him for which he just nodded.

I changed my clothes into a T-shirt and shorts. I came outside the bathroom only to notice Rudra kissing on the forehead of Amaira. I smiled and went towards him.

Noticing my presence, he sat straight.

"um-You can sleep here, I will sleep on the couch." That's the first thing he muttered. I looked around the room only to see a small couch.

"What? Are you crazy? That's too short."

"No, it's okay."

"Hey, it's okay we both can sleep on the bed. Aren't you tired?"

"yes, but-"

"no buts, it's not like we both will eat each other and amaira and advik are also between us."

He nodded in understanding, and together we settled on the bed with our children. Soon sleep engulfed me and I slept.

🌸

Morning rays fell on me waking me up from deep slumber. I rubbed my eyes. Something heavy was on my stomach. I opened my eyes only to Advik on my stomach, sleeping. I smiled. My gaze shifted from Advik to Amaira. She was resting on Rudra's chest. Rudra's hand was wrapped around Amaira, hugging her like a koala. It's a sweet moment for the morning. I stood up and made Advik sleep on the bed, not forgetting to put pillows around him.

After freshening up, I donned the red saree gifted to me by my mother-in-law. I went downstairs to find no one was there. I guess everyone was sleeping. I went to the kitchen and heated milk for my babies, who would be hungry after waking up.

I moved towards the room taking lukewarm milk. Rudra was sitting on the bed, amaira on his lap, and advik was sleeping beside him.

"Good morning."

"Good Morning." He replied with his morning voice. I moved my gaze from him.

"Good morning mumma." My little sunshine spoke.

I went towards her and bent to take her.

"Good Morning, baby. Did you sleep well?"

"Yes, mumma. Dadda was there nah." She went away from me to her dad.

"Okay. So, now you're forgetting me after meeting your dad.. huh?"

Rudra embraced her, offering a gentle peck on her forehead with a smile, before turning his gaze towards me.

"No, mumma. I am not ignoring you."

"Are you sure? Don't you wanna come to me and drink milk?"

"Coming, mumma." I smiled. She is too mature and intelligent for her age and I feel bad for my daughter, she has gone through so much at a young age.

She sat beside me and I gave her milk, which was kept on the nightstand. She started drinking it.

I moved towards Advik and pecked his forehead.

"Did I wake you up, baby?" His little eyes opened.

"Nah, mum."

I smiled and held him in my arms.

"You want to drink milk baby?"

"nahh, mummaa."

"Why?'

"naaa."

"Baby, you know it's good for you, right? You want to be strong, right?"

"yes, mumma."

I started feeding him milk with the bottle.

🌸

After feeding them, I went to the kitchen to prepare lunch. I need to prepare a sweet dish also since it's my first day. I decided to make Kheer.

With the help of an aunty who has been working in this house for more than 5 years, I prepared the lunch.

"Chachi ji, main sambhal lungi. App rest kariye."

"Beta, let me help you a litle. Jb se tum hi kaam kar rhi ho."

"Arey, bs khana hi to lagana h..main kar lu gi. App rest ki jiye." I said while smiling.

She just nodded and flashed me a huge smile.

"Good morning, beta." My mother-in-law greeted me.

"Good morning, Maa."

🌸

In one hour, everyone emerged from their rooms and gathered at the dining table. Ma told me that no matter what everyone eats their food together and talks about their lives. It reminded me of my home.

I was serving food to Myra, my sister-in-law. She is the sweetest soul with a bubbly personality. While serving food I sensed someone's presence, I looked back only to see Rudra standing there with amaira in his arms and looking at me. His hairs were perfectly combed, and his one hand was inside his pants pocket, making him look enchanting. His dark orbs were staring at me. We were both looking at each other, lost in our world when Myra shook me.

"Bhabhi?"

"Haa."

"I called you two three times."

"What happened?"

"I was asking you to eat."

"Oh, Thank you. I will." I passed her an awkward smile.

It was a little awkward. Rudra sat on the chair.

"Advik, kha par h?"

"He slept again." He replied and I only nodded.

With that, I started serving him food. He held my wrist and muttered, "You sit, I will do it."

"But-"

"No buts."

He took my hand, guided me to sit beside him, and served me food. I smiled.

"Mumma?"

"Yes, baby?" I looked towards my little soul.

"I want to go with dadda on the office."

"Baby, it's in the office. And, no you aren't going. Do you want to disturb your dadda? Hm?"

"It's okay. I will take her if she wants to go." I moved my eyes to the owner of this voice and glared at him. And he just smiled. JERK.

"Thank you, dadda. You are best." Amaira said while pecking his cheeks and he returned it.

Shaking my head I just smiled. I am loving this new bond between them. I hope my children get all the love. I don't care about me.

I bent towards Amaira to peck her cheeks.

Everyone gifted Meera as it was her first day. I took out a pendant from my pocket.

"Meera?"

She looked at me and raised her eyebrow.

"I didn't know what you like but yeah, I bought this." I gave her a crescent pendant.

"No, it's okay."

"Aap ko pasand nhi aya?" I asked her, I was genuinely curious. If she didn't like it. I will ask her about her choice and buy it for her.

(You didn't like it?)

"It's not like that. It's beautiful." She smiled.

"If you don't like this, you can tell me other things that you like."

"No, it's beautiful." And with that, she tried to hang the pendant around her neck.

"Wait, let me help you."

I took the pendant from her hand and enclosed it around her neck.

"li jiye, hogya."

She turned around and said with a soft smile, "Thank you."

The pendant looked stunning on her as if it was meant to be around her neck—beautiful and perfect.

I nodded and gave her a small smile.

🌸

Everyone's gaze was on me and my daughter as I entered my building.

Ignoring their stares, I went towards my office with my little sunshine.

"Dadaa, it's so big just like mumma's." I smiled at her baby voice.

"Is it so, my baby?'

"Yes, dadda."

I took her in my arms and sat on the chair. I settled her on my lap and opened my laptop.

Suddenly, I remembered something.

"Baby, you are 4 years old. Why don't you go to school?"

"Ohh my dadda. I don't know. Mumma was saying something but I don't remember." She giggled. I laughed at her baby behavior.

"It's okay, my little. I will ask your mumma later."

She just nodded.

"Baby, you will get bored here. Do you wanna play?"

"yes, dadda."

"Okay, let's go."

When I had Advik, I realized the struggle of being a parent and constructed a special room for child care. I took her to a place where she could play with other children. I didn't want her to spend too much time looking at a screen, as I felt it wasn't good for her. That's why I decided to take her to be with other children, where she could enjoy their company.

I stayed busy with work and checked on Amaira from time to time.

"Oye, Tu Amaira ko leka aya h or mujhe btaya nhi, kitna kamina ho skta h tu."I hear my friend, Aditya screaming in his overly dramatic tone.

(You bought Amaira here and didn't bother to tell me.)

"How many times do I have to tell you to knock first & then come." My voice exuded a calm, yet unwavering conviction.

"I've known you since we used to wear diapers. And, now you are doing this to me." He wiped his fake tears.

Dramatic Asshole.

"OH, why my tears are not stopping?" He again wiped his so-called tears.

"Bastard, because they never started." I gave him a smug smile.

"Chup rha! Tell me where is Amaira, I want to meet that pookie.'

(Shut up.)

"Stay away from her, meri bachi ko overdramatic bna dega."

(You would make her overdramatic like you.)

"RUDRA RAJPUt, SHUT UP," Aditya shouted at me.

"Reality needs to be told." I shrugged off.

"You fuck-"

"Dare to complete that line, And I will fire you."

"fucker." He spoke and I stared at him.

"Tujhe thodi na kha h bhai, fucker me, fuck me. Yes..haa..Chill kar." He passed me a nervous smile.

(I didn't say it to you. Fucker me, fuck me. Yes.. .........Chill out." )

I shook my head. He can never change.

"Aaj main tere sath chaluga, shaadi main to aya nhi gaya, Bhabhi se milne."His voice was filled with playfulness and teasing.

(Today, I will accompany you to meet Bhabhi as I was not able to attend your wedding.)

I rolled my eyes & ignored him.

"Aaja, Amaira ko lene chalte h."

(Come, let's go to Amaira.)

I nodded and went along with him to fetch Amaira, my little sunshine.
