I am happy. I am pleased to start this new journey with maybe new or no friends. All my friends took different streams. And I will be alone, the only girl in our group to be in commerce. My friends were good but too toxic. At least they were not fake except for the study part. I took my first step in my new class, and the noises of many students reached my ears. I moved my eyes, gazing at my new class. I moved forward and looked at new faces, faces that I would be looking at for the whole year.
My eyes roamed around the class and stopped at a particular person, who was sitting, his head down. He was sitting on the last-second bench. My eyes didn’t leave him. Why isn’t he looking up and just lying on the bench on the first day of school?
“Anvi!” Trisha’s voice echoed in the room.
“Trisha.” I waved at her, and a smile erupted on my face.
“Long time no see!”
“Yes, after a long time. We passed tenth!”
“Yep, new era!” I nodded and sat beside her.
Trisha and I had been classmates; we were not best friends, but we knew each other well.
It was all new, the queer and euphoric feeling. My heart raced a little, thinking about this new journey of learning.
“Good Morning, students.” A calm voice entered my ears, and all the students stood up to greet the teacher.
“Welcome to the new class!”
“Thank you, ma'am.”
Soon, the low whispers in the room vanished, and the teacher’s voice echoed in the room, telling us about our new class. I moved my head behind to look at the guy who was sleeping, only to meet the black pair of eyes who were looking at me. My heart rate rose precipitously as I locked eyes with him. He is looking at me? No way. Aariv Khan is looking at me? I tore my gaze from him and turned my head to look at Trisha. He must be looking at her, she is too pretty. I straightened my back and focused on the teacher’s words instead of this strange feeling in my stomach.
